Kansas U. ridership doubles after going fare free

LAWRENCE, Kansas — A 2008 agreement between KU and the city allows students and faculty to ride both the school's KU on Wheels bus system and city transit buses fare free. Also, residents who show a valid transit pass or transfer slip can ride the KU on Wheels buses for free. Ridership on KU on Wheels doubled in the first fare-free year, with an additional 20-percent uptick last year, The University Daily Kansan reports. To read the full story, click here.
