CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Fewer students are bringing cars on campus this year, in line with a five-year trend in decreasing parking permit sales, The News-Gazette reports. University officials say many factors are at play, including rising permit prices; tough economic times and students choosing alternative modes of transportation.
