UW no longer letting students opt out of U-PASS fee

SEATTLE — The University of Washington has stopped allowing students the choice of whether to pay a $76 quarterly fee that supports the school’s transit program, q13fox.com reported.

Previously, students who did not wish participate in the U-PASS program could have the fee refunded from their tuition fees at a later date and forfeit their transit pass. The change to the program was proposed by student government organizations and approved by the board of regents to secure the future of the struggling program. For the full story, click here.
