STARKVILLE, Miss. — The AP reported that Mississippi Department of Transportation officials approved $2 million for a bus system, called Starkville MSU Area Rapid Transit (SMART), connecting the city of Starkville to the Mississippi State University campus.

The funds will cover transit operations, including drivers, fuel and maintenance costs, and up to 12 buses for the routes. For the full story, click here.
