After more than 41 years of service, University of California, Los Angeles’ Fleet & Transit Director Sherry Lewis retired earlier this month.

Throughout her tenure, Lewis has championed high quality service and innovation and has maintained a commitment to clean air and sustainability, providing, promoting and supporting green options for UCLA vehicles.

Under her leadership, Fleet Services has consistently ranked among the top fleets nationwide for alternative-fuel vehicles and Transit’s BruinBus shuttles were among the first in the nation to transition to compressed natural gas.

Lewis served on many industry boards and associations, including the American Public Transportation Association, the University of California’s Sustainable Transportation Committee and California Transit Association.

Clinton Bench has been named the new fleet & transit director. Before joining UCLA, Clinton served as manager of transit service planning for the Boston Metropolitan Planning Organization and deputy executive director of planning with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
