MINNEAPOLIS — Two different funding options for the Southwest Light Rail Transit line are being considered, both of which appropriate millions of dollars in bond proceeds. Senate File 257 would provide $118 million for the project, while Senate File 258 would provide $37 million, reported the Hopkins Patch.

Both bills would provide the capital investment funding to the Metropolitan Council to cover environmental studies and preliminary engineering, as well as acquire property as well as design and construct the Southwest Corridor light rail transit line from the Hiawatha light rail transit line in downtown Minneapolis to Eden Prairie.
