PITTSBURGH — Local 85 of the Amalgamated Transit Union overwhelmingly approved a four-year contract with the Port Authority of Allegheny County that includes nearly $60 million in concessions, post-gazette.com reported. A key provision lets the union to void the contract if the state and county don't provide adequate future funding and the authority is forced to lay off employees or close garages.
Additionally, a two-year wage freeze will save the agency $19.6 million compared with the cost of 3% raises. For the full story, click here.
