LAS VEGAS — Thanks in part to an unexpected bump in sales tax revenue, the Regional Transportation Commission announced proposed bus rate increases, including for paratransit, won't be nearly as severe as first expected, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Changes to paratransit services include at least a 50% discount for seniors and disabled riders and unlimited paratransit fares will be switched to 46-trip per month coupon books, effective July 2013. In addition, effective July 2015, paratransit service area will be reduced to three-quarters of a mile from the fixed-route lines, which is the minimum Americans with Disabilities Act requirement.
