LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus driver was leaving a layover area Sunday morning when he was shot by a passenger, the Los Angeles Times reported. The driver was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The alleged shooter, who was the only passenger at the time, was detained at the scene. For the full story, click here.

The driver was identified as 51-year-old Alan Thomas, who had worked for Metro for five years, according to the Daily News.
