BUFFALO, N.Y. — Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority is discussing possibly merging the 80-member Transit Authority Police Department into the Sheriff's Office. While the move could eliminate many redundancies between the two police forces, yearly savings estimates were said to be between $1 million and $1.9 million in a $10 million budget, Buffalo News reported.
