SLOATSBURG, N.Y. — The New York Trailways bus involved in a collision on the New York State Thruway that injured seven of 16 passengers and the bus driver has a satisfactory safety rating from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), lohud.com reported. The initial state police investigation found no mechanical problems with the bus, which rear-ended a tractor-trailer.

While the operator’s number of problematic incidents is far below the threshold set by the FMCSA, the bus company had two accidents involving two injuries in 2009, and drivers have been cited for speeding and driver fatigue over the past two years. For the full story, click here.
