The DART RideShare Delaware program announced the launch of their new interactive ridematching and commute tracking system.

The database allows commuters direct access to finding ridematch partners, logging and tracking "clean" commutes, updating their profile in real time, transit information and finding rides to special events. These programs are expected to help save the commuter money, according to DART.

"We are pleased that our DART Rideshare Program has greatly increased the features and ease of use of its Rideshare database software," said Stephen Kingsberry, executive director of the Delaware Transit Corp., which is a part of the Delaware Department of Transportation. "This new software improvement will greatly benefit our current and future Rideshare participants by better matching similar individual trip destinations among those seeking carpool and ridesharing arrangements. The news of the use of this new database software is sure to attract many more and new rideshare registrants."

The new ridematching system also provides commute tracking software to report and calculate fuel and maintenance savings for carpoolers, transit riders, vanpoolers, bicyclists and people who walk to work. This information will help commuters see how their clean commute reduces the cost of their trip to the office and also quantifies how they are positively impacting the air quality of the region by sharing the ride.
