TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority and CSX Transportation are discussing prospects for the use of CSX freight track in Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties, Tampa Bay Online reports. The deal, should it become a reality, may make it possible to accommodate trains with heavier, faster equipment than light rail to serve commuters and other regional travelers.
