LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles officials will mark the 20th anniversary of the Metro Rail system today. The system includes five light rail and subway lines spanning 79 miles of track. Trains carry on an average weekday more than 327,000 boardings. Critics say the push for rail has come at the expense of the system's bus network resulting in ridership losses, according to a Los Angeles Times report.
