The IC Bus Tulsa bus plant will reach a new production milestone this week, when they build the 10,773rd bus for fiscal 2009. The facility built 10,772 as recently as 2006 and is on schedule to finish the year having built more than 11,300 buses.

"This is a tremendous achievement for our Tulsa employees," said John McKinney, president, IC Bus. "Day-in and day-out, we have a dedicated team of hardworking bus builders that go beyond the bus in building some of the safest and most dependable vehicles on the road."

On Friday morning, October 16, the plant will hold an informal gathering of its employees and mark the moment that the milestone IC Bus CE Series bus starts the line.

Since the plant opened in 2001 and through the end of the company's fiscal year at the end of this month, the Tulsa Bus Plant will have built more than 73,000 buses. While some of the vehicles built at the Tulsa facility are commercial buses, the majority are school buses.
