The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has joined with the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay to unveil a disaster preparedness campaign.

The public awareness campaign promotes the importance of preparing for a disaster before it strikes.

Noting that it is important to the MBTA to refresh partnerships, such as the one with Red Cross that share important information with the public, MBTA General Manager Grabauskas said, “While we are better prepared and more secure today, we cannot take for granted the security of our customers. Working with the Red Cross, the City of Boston, including Emergency Medical Services, and many volunteers, provides us the opportunity to learn from each other and take the necessary steps to ensure that our customers are as prepared as they can be while riding the system.”

The campaign includes the placement of 300 educational car cards throughout the MBTA system.
