Transdev North America recently announced that veteran transit expert Bill Spraul assumed the role of Regional VP for the Southeast region.

Most recently, Spraul has been working with Transdev on special projects, leveraging his extensive, public and private sector operational experience. Before rejoining Transdev, Spraul was COO of the San Diego MTS Transit Services division, where he was responsible for close to 2,000 employees, more than 800 vehicles, and a several hundred million operating budget.

Prior to MTS, Spraul was Transdev’s CEO in South Bend, Ind., overseeing the TRANSPO Municipal Bus System. He also served as Director of Transit Operations for Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority in Cincinnati, where he began his transit career in 1982.

“Bill is a seasoned and talented manager and we are fortunate to have someone with his level of expertise on our team,” said Mike Setzer, president of Transit at Transdev North America. “His strong client relationships, in-depth knowledge and commitment to the industry will undoubtedly continue to add to the value Transdev brings to our clients and to the industry as a whole,” added Setzer.

In his role, Spraul will not only oversee the operations in the Southwest, but will contribute to the overall growth strategy of the organization.
