Houston METRO crews have completed emergency repairs to overhead electrical wires on both the Green Line and Red Line extension. Rail service is now running as scheduled from Theater District Station to the Magnolia Transit Center and on the entire Red Line from Northline/HCC Station to Fannin South.

Meanwhile, service along the Purple line remains suspended as work to reinforce electrical wires continues. Free bus shuttles are available along those routes to transport customers, and METRO staff is directing customers.

Emergency repairs were started last week as a safety precaution on all three of the rail lines after two wire breaks were detected. The wires are being reinforced at 79 locations to prevent them from falling in the event of another break. It is anticipated the entire project will be completed by the end of the week.
