Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) notified GreenPower Motor Company Inc. it will acquire three more EV Stars in partnership with Electrify America, who have agreed to fund the balance of the purchase not covered by the California HVIP voucher program, as long as the vehicles are delivered by September 30.

GreenPower has substantially completed the delivery of six EV Star All-Electric Min–eBuses to SacRT for deployment on its SmaRT Ride service. SacRT provides public transportation for the City of Sacramento and most of Northern Sacramento County. Last year SacRT launched SmaRT Ride, a new on-demand service where customers use a smartphone app to request shuttle rides within a designated service area. SacRT plans on operating its SmaRT Ride shuttle service in 12 Sacramento communities, including the first disadvantaged community to receive the service.

The EV Star seats up to 19 passengers and can be configured with either a Level 2 J-1772 or a CCS DC Fast combo charge system, which allows for optimal flexibility in route planning for any duty cycle. EV Stars can be supplied with Wheelchair lifts to meet ADA requirements.
