SFMTA to regulate dockless motor scooters

SAN FRANCISCO — SFWeekly reports the city will go nearly a month without seeing scooters on its sidewalks, and that any shared electric scooters found after June 4 will be confiscated and used as evidence.

In turn, the San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency is accepting permit applications for a 12-month pilot program, with hopes to issue the permits by the end of June.

Since appearing on city streets in March, the city has received 1,800 complaints about the dockless scooters blocking sidewalks, doorways, and bus stops, while riders illegally riding on the sidewalk have repeatedly bumped into pedestrians. For the full story, click here.
