The NEPTA (Northeast Passenger Transportation Association) Annual Dinner meeting was held late last year at the Providence Biltmore Hotel, which included the announcement of the newest members to the NEPTA Hall of Fame.

This year's Hall of Fame recipient was Joel S. Abraman of New Flyer of America, who was nominated by NEPTA BOD member Jim Gallagher of Bus Stuf Inc. According to the NEPTA bylaws, the association recognizes members who have made outstanding contribution to the transit industry. Abraman has been a contributing factor to transit improvement for over 40 years. John Andrews was instrumental in the development of this award in 1999, and following a member vote, this award was added to the NEPTA bylaws.

Paul Smith, VP, sales & marketing enjoyed talking about the loyalty and dedication Abraman has exhibited, both personally and professionally, during this time with New Flyer. Abraman and his wife Ellen enjoy traveling and have a full calendar of events planned. On behalf of NEPTA and the transit industry, NEPTA wishes Abraman the best in all he continues to do. The association thanks Carmine Fiore and Paul Smith and to the attendees present for helping to make the evening very special.
