Long-time industry veteran John M. Maddox announced the formation of a consulting company, Transit Bus Technical Advisors (TBTA) and will serve as its president. The company team specializes in assisting transit agencies, bus manufacturers, and fellow consultants with technical expertise regarding diesel, CNG, hybrid-electric, fuel-cell, and all-electric heavy-duty buses in an advisory role, including FMVSS/CMVSS and state regulations, cutting-edge propulsion systems, body structure, and a myriad of industry available optional equipment along with a wide range of peripheral subjects.

In addition, the team also provides services for program management and project engineering management needs.

Maddox spent the past 10 years at BAE Systems and was involved with overall plans for deliveries of over 7,000 hybrid-electric propulsion systems, electrically-powered accessories along supporting projects, including all-electric and fuel-cell programs.

In the past, he was involved in numerous APTA/FTA technical committees, including co-chair of the CNG/LNG Standard Bus Procurement Guidelines Working Group, and recently served as advanced propulsion technology officer of the Clean Propulsion Committee. Furthermore, he had served as chief engineer at Flyer Industries (now known as New Flyer) and VP, engineering & sales, at Bus Industries of America/Ontario Bus Industries.
