ORLANDO, Fla. — Due to rising costs, a future 5.5-mile SunRail extension linking to Orlando International Airport’s Intermodal Terminal Facility may not use commuter rail vehicles that currently transport people between neighboring counties, Orlando Business Journal reported.
Due to the hefty $250 million price tag for heavy trains, Florida Department of Transportation is exploring other transit options, including bus-rapid transit, a people mover similar to the one at the Orlando airport or light rail, the report said.
