SALEM, Ore. — Lane Transit District is seeking $30 million from the state to help pay for a new rapid transit bus line, reported The Register-Guard.
LTD is hoping to get the money in the form of Oregon Lottery-backed bonds, to use as matching funds for a federal grant it plans to apply for in late 2018, the report said.
If approved, the money for LTD likely would be used to help pay for one of five new potential EmX lines in Eugene, adding to the agencies already-existing BRT lines along Franklin Boulevard and Gateway Street in Springfield and its under-construction line on West 11th Avenue, according to The Register-Guard.
