Cubic Transportation Systems announced that  transportation executive Jannet Walker Ford will join as VP/GM of Eastern Region, Americas effective March 6.

The Eastern region includes Miami where the EASY Card revenue management system has become a major Cubic project, which recently expanded under a $33 million contract for upgrades to cloud-based services supporting mobile- and open-payment technologies. The region also includes Georgia where Cubic supports Atlanta’s Breeze smart card-based regional fare collection system and continues to provide maintenance services for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA).

Other customers include the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Maryland Transit Administration as well as Autoridad de Transporte Intregrado and Metropolitan Bus Authority, the primary rail and bus public transport operators in Puerto Rico.

Prior to joining Cubic, Walker Ford was VP and North America director of strategic programs and policy for Parsons Corp. Previously, she was deputy program director for the Philadelphia International Airport’s multimillion-dollar, multi-year Capacity Enhancement Program — which at the time was the largest such program in the U.S. She also oversaw the design and installation of the Breeze system as both deputy CEO and deputy GM as well as CIO for MARTA.

Walker Ford has held leadership roles in transit organizations including the American Public Transportation Association, Women’s Transportation Seminar and Conference of Minority Transportation Officials. In 2012, she received the Professional Achievement Technology Award for Industry from the Women of Color’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Conference.
