Mobility Networks, supplier of accessible wheelchair lifts and ramps for buses, coaches and other adapted vehicles, opened new offices in New York and Toronto to introduce its latest solutions to the North American market.

Mobility Networks North American (MNNA) is the latest worldwide branch to be set up by Mobility Networks. The Mobility Networks Group delivers a “one-stop-shop” service for bus and coach builders, vehicle convertors, fleet operators, and domestic drivers looking for the best wheelchair access solutions from around the world. Mike Simmonds, who was previously the managing director of Q’Straint’s international operations for almost 20 years, will be leading the group.

MNNA officially launched and unveiled a range of pioneering access products to the U.S. market at BusCon Expo, which was held Sept. 19 to 21 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

For the first time, U.S. bus and coach builders will have access to Mobility Networks solutions that deliver utmost quality, reliability, and performance, according to the company. To support provision of this innovative equipment to the rest of the U.S. market, an additional office is opening in New York. This office along with the Toronto facilities will be led by brothers Angelo, Angelo M and Domenic D’Urso.

The D’Urso family already has an outstanding and established reputation in North America. They have worked in the bus sector for over two decades and currently operate the DUR-A-BUS coach building and conversion company. They have first-hand experience of disability with a close relative using a wheelchair and regularly support disabled children’s charities — hence a complete understanding of disabled passenger needs. This will ensure MNNA will meet and exceed expectations and deliver appropriate access solutions for maximized safety and independence of disabled people.

With an 85,000-square-foot facility near the Toronto Pearson International Airport, MNNA will be able to efficiently import and supply the very best vehicle access solutions from around the world. A dealer network is being rolled out across NA through established and trusted contacts so assured service and after-sales support is delivered.
