BATON ROUGE, La. — The committee vetting candidates to serve as the next chief executive officer for the Capital Area Transit System has recommended the public transportation board offer the spot to its interim CEO, The Advocate reported.

William "Bill" Deville, who has been leading the agency since April, stepped in as interim leader of the bus system following the resignation earlier this year of former CEO Bob Mirabito.

In addition to Deville, the committee also conducted an in-person interview with Jonathan Davis, retired CEO of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in Boston.
