MANSFIELD, Mass — A man was killed when he was struck by a high-speed Amtrak train while attempting to cross the tracks near a train station in Massachusetts Wednesday afternoon, which halted train service to the station and complicated the evening commute, The Sun Chronicle reports.

An Amtrak spokeswoman said Train 172 traveling from Washington, D.C., with 166 passengers struck the man around 2:45 p.m. No crew or passengers were injured, according to Amtrak.
