LONDON — After re-evaluating its usage, Transport for London (TfL) has ditched its plan to stop using Twitter to provide passengers with real-time updates, Business Insider reports.

For the last few years, TfL has operated a series of Twitter accounts for different London Underground lines and other transport services to keep riders posted on line closures, delays and other potential issues with London's transport infrastructure. However, a change in Twitter algorithm that prioritizes tweets by popularity rather than in chronological order forced the agency to explore suspending using the social media site.

The agency backed away from its decision because it gave the perception that it was "stepping back from providing the full-range of information" it currently provides to customers, which was not the intention, according to the report. For the full story, click here.
