MILWAUKEE — Union representatives gave county supervisors a petition seeking better working conditions, including improved bus safety, for Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) drivers, the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel reported.

The petitions state that security needs to remove a person from the bus when passengers created disturbances. A transit security report found that the number of assaults of drivers decreased 62% since 2010 due to the installation of protective shields on buses; however, union officials say many issues often go unreported.
