FORT WORTH, Texas — The TEX Rail commuter line, which will connect downtown Fort Worth to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, is on schedule to open by late 2018 and will be designed to include positive train control, the Star-Telegram reported.
The TEX Rail project will use a portion of a $25 million North Central Texas Council of Governments grant to offset the costs of PTC. Officials at The T, which is the transit agency in charge of the rail system, are in the final design phase of TEX Rail and expect to put construction out for bid in December.
