KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A new smartphone app was developed to help entice patrons to eat and shop along the downtown Kansas City streetcar route during construction, KSHB News reported.

The app called “KC Streetcar - Open For Business,” gives users points if they "check in" or make purchases at participating restaurants and retailers. The more points you get, the better your chances to win prizes, including a grand prize of $5,000.
