Indianapolis-based transportation software company DoubleMap acquired TapRide, an on demand, ride hailing and dispatching system.

The acquisition will enable DoubleMap to provide a single solution for real-time mobile mapping, ride hailing, and vehicle tracking for public transportation and any organization that moves passengers.

“Through this acquisition, DoubleMap will effectively eliminate the need for dispatchers in on demand shuttle operations,” said Peter SerVaas, president of DoubleMap. “This functionality, coupled with DoubleMap’s core features, will now offer all the services a university, city, or company needs to safely and efficiently manage their entire transportation system as well as provide the best possible services for the people that rely on these systems.”
