THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. — The Desert Sun reported that students at the College of the Desert campus in Palm Desert are asking SunLine Transit for a bus route to take them directly from Desert Hot Springs to the college. The current trip requires transfers and can take up to two-and-a-half hours one way.

Joe Forgiarini, director, planning, for SunLine, told the paper that a lack of funds is limiting the transit system’s ability to expand, and that a new route would require at least $1 million for new buses plus $500,000 in annual operating costs. For the full story, click here.
