METRO's Frank Di Giacomo presented Larry and Lorna Hundt and their daughter Michelle Hundt Tupman with the Motorcoach Operator of the Year Award at UMA Expo.

METRO Magazine named Larry and Lorna Hundt, owners of the Kitchener, Ontario, Canada-based Great Canadian Holidays Inc., as the winner of its Motorcoach Operator of the Year Award.

METRO VP, bus, rail/Publisher Frank Di Giacomo presented the award to the Hundts, who were joined by their daughter Michelle Hundt Tupman, director, tour operations, at the United Motorcoach Association’s Expo at Travel Exchange in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

In business for more than 30 years, Great Canadian had other operators run their coaches when they first started out and have since grown to a top-notch operation with 52 motorcoaches, with partnerships with more than 30 other tour companies, which they now operate coaches for.

Primarily providing tours, motorcoach rentals and vehicle maintenance from its own state-of-the-art facility, Great Canadian’s operation also features vehicles that stand out with unique, original and patriotic artwork.

A critical aspect of our winner’s success has been their ability to constantly be innovative in creating new tours to adapt to its customers’ ever-evolving interests.

In his acceptance speech, Larry Hundt credited his wife, family and employees for their dedicated support over the years, while Lorna credited her husband’s hard work and determination over the years.
