NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y. — Hicksville Illustrated reported that Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE Bus) will soon begin taking delivery on 28 new Dodge wheelchair-accessible vans. The new vehicles will replace the oldest vehicles in its paratransit service fleet.

The cost of the vehicles is approximately $1.2 million. Veolia Transportation is paying for 18 of the vehicles, at approximately $780,000. The other 10 vehicles, costing approximately $435,000, are being funded through state-administered Federal Transportation Administration grants earmarked for capital purchases for public transit.

The first of the vans are expected to be delivered in late this month.  For the full story, click here.
