DETROIT — The city's new Regional Transit Authority narrowed its pool of CEO candidates to three — John C. Hertel, the GM of the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART); Albert Martin, a former director of the Detroit DOT and SMART; and Larry E. Salci, a transportation consultant who at age 29 led the Southeastern Michigan Transportation Authority, The Detroit News reported.

The person selected for the post will be in charge of running the new authority, implementing a staff and a vision to win support for improved transportation in southeast Michigan and get a millage passed to fund operations.
