SAN FRANCISCO — A union negotiator told the AP that Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) and striking union workers made progress in contract talks, which began Tuesday evening. The two parties are expected to meet again on Wednesday afternoon.

However, workers are still on strike, making this the third day in a row that San Francisco Bay Area commuters will need to find alternate transit options.

The unions want a 5% raise each year over the next three years. BART told the AP that union train operators and station agents average about $71,000 in base salary and $11,000 in overtime annually. For the full story, click here.
