WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — In response to a rider complaint, the Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA) is considering banning smoking inside covered bus shelters, the Winston-Salem Journal reports. The complaint was based on a shelter near a hospital. The city attorney has told WSTA they have the authority to prohibit smoking in the shelters. A ban would not effect regular bus stops.
