ST. PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota's Northstar commuter rail services marked its first year anniversary Tuesday. Although riders are happy with the service, ridership is running about 5 percent below projections, according to a Minnesota Public Radio story. The shortfall is expected to worsen to as much as 15 percent to 20 percent below projections for the rest of this year. Metro Transit officials have cited the economy for the low ridership numbers.
