PHILADELPHIA — In response to a shooting on Tuesday that left a Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) bus driver injured by flying glass, the Transit Workers Union, Local 234, president called on Mayor Michael A. Nutter to form a task force to find ways to improve protection for bus drivers and other transit employees, philly.com reported.

The shooting was the 50th assault on a SEPTA worker this year. It came one week after another bus driver was shot in the arm by a man who was told he couldn’t board the bus. For the full story, click here.
