BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) received more than $4.7 million in federal funding for multiple uses, including a study to connect the metro rail system to the University at Buffalo, according to Buffalo Business First.

Specifically, NFTA is receiving $1.2 million to fund an alternatives study for the Amherst-Buffalo Corridor, which includes NFTA Metro's highest ridership levels, to ensure recent economic development in the region has adequate infrastructure to address increased transportation needs.

The transit agency plans to conduct an analysis of the Amherst-Buffalo Corridor, which potentially would connect the current the Light Rail System in Buffalo to the UB North Campus in Amherst. For the full story, click here.
