SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and the University of Utah received a $2.7 million federal grant for electric shuttles that recharge without wires from underground pads, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.
The project is based on technology developed by Utah State's Energy Dynamics Laboratory and marketed through a spin-off company called WAVE (Wireless Advance Vehicle Electrification). The university currently has a working prototype, but will be the first to have a fleet on a regular route. For the full story, click here.
