The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) completed a federally funded, non-stimulus $7.9 million renovation project at Ryers Station.

Situated along SEPTA's Fox Chase Regional Rail Line, Ryers Station is a connection point for bus routes 24, 70 and 77. Approximately 700 trips begin or end at Ryers Station each weekday.

To make the station more accessible, a new 240-foot high level platform, stairway and an Americans with Disabilities (ADA) ramp were constructed. SEPTA customers will also notice the new platform seating, lighting, landscaping, signage, canopies, windscreen and upgraded parking facilities.

Cameras and emergency call boxes were installed in the platform and parking lot to enhance customer security. Additional improvements include concrete repairs to the adjacent railroad bridge abutment, painting of an adjacent railroad bridge and sidewalk installation.

Ryers Station renovations began in Fall 2010 and lasted approximately 18 months. The existing station was fully operational during construction. All work was completed by a combination of SEPTA employees and third-party contractors.
