MV Transportation Inc. announced it was selected by the board of directors of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Harris County (Houston Metro) to operate its paratransit services, METROLift.

Under the terms of the new four year agreement, MV Transportation will provide management, maintenance and operations for METROLift, which serves Houston and the surrounding areas.

MV will begin to transition the service from the previous provider on May 1 and expects to transition the entire fleet of 118 cutaway buses by August 2011.

As part of this contract, MV Transportation will implement its proprietary real-time technology, TimePoint Software to enhance the operation. With the new software, METROLift and its passengers will benefit from improved tracking and reporting capabilities and more efficient operations.
