OTTAWA — The Ottawa Citizen reported that the area’s Para Transpo paratransit service will be getting its own smart card system for paying fares beginning in 2015; however, it won’t be the Presto system OC Transpo is using.

Para Transpo uses a zoned fare system that’s different from OC Transpo’s and uses many different vehicles, including taxis that are only on duty some of the time, making it difficult to use Presto.

According to an the Citizen, the Para Transpo system will use Trapeze, a smart card system. The company also designed the system’s scheduling and booking software and has worked with Para Transpo since 1999. For the full story, click here.
