L.A. Metro CEO Art Leahy will report monitoring results of the limited installations to the Board of Directors this fall. If all goes well, the agency will proceed with installing a total of 379 fare gates in all stations on the subway and Metro Green Line and key light rail stations on the Metro Blue and Gold lines. Installation is intended to be completed in six to eight months in early 2010.
Vehicles fueled with CNG, providing the recipients an extra benefit of being environmentally friendly. All the agencies receiving vehicles are responsible for fueling, maintaining and insuring the vehicles, and each will track how the vehicles are used.
Started installing system in 2004 under a self-review model, and will now use DriveCam’s Managed Services Program in all vehicles.
The 100,000-square-foot facility will be built on COTA's Fields Avenue Campus and house administrative, eligibility and customer care functions, as well as operations and maintenance for up to 104 paratransit vehicles.
