Before a BRT project gets started in Waikiki, Hawaii's transportation director said the city must answer basic questions about its proposed project, reported a local news channel. Transportation Director Brian Minaai wants to know how many people in cars will be worse off once it's been built, including the immediate affect on intersections and roads as well as drivers. The first phase of the project will be 5.5 miles at a cost of $66 million, with the city paying $31 million and taxpayers covering the rest. Buses would stop every two minutes during rush hour and every eight minutes during off-peak times.
