OCEANSIDE, Calif. — The North County Times reports that on Tuesday, the North County Transit District board of directors voted to eliminate discounts for riders enrolled in drug and alcohol-treatment programs. Riders recovering from drug and alcohol abuse will see the cost of a monthly public transportation pass increase from $18 to $59. A spokesperson said the district had trouble verifying that those who applied for the pass discounts were enrolled in a valid treatment program. For the full story, click here.
