The City of Gainesville selected the design-build team of Charles Perry Partners Inc.; Ponikvar & Associates Inc.; Wendel; and Causseaux, Hewett, & Walpole Inc. (CHW) for its new $25 million Regional Transit System (RTS) bus fleet maintenance and operations facility.

Funded largely by $23 million in federal monies, including a $9 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration, the new facility will include dispatch, administrative and maintenance facilities. RTS's growing fleet will also feature bus rapid transit vehicles that are 25 feet longer than conventional buses.

The City Commission's action in selecting the No. 1 ranked team affirmed its Purchasing Division's recommendation, having considered five highly qualified design-build teams with national transit facility experience.
